Class Descriptions
Beginner's boxing
For those brand new to boxing. Learn boxing fundamentals such as stance, basic punches and combinations, footwork, and defense. Expect to get an excellent workout through drills and exercises aimed at improving conditioning and muscular endurance. This class is beneficial to those who wish to build a strong foundation in boxing, as well as those looking to improve in overall fitness, health, and performance in other sports.
Muay thai
Thai Boxing is often referred to as the art of 8 limbs, because of the ability to use many parts of the body as weapons. Punches, kicks, knees, and elbows are all used to a fighter's advantage. Thai Boxing is considered to be one of the most physically demanding sports, so participants should expect to leave class extremely well-conditioned. In our Muay Thai program, our instructors cover the fundamentals as well as advanced fighting techniques, depending on the participant skill level. Along with the traditional skills and techniques, conditioning will be a major part of class.
Level 1
Our level one class builds on the foundation established in Beginner's Boxing, while adding more advanced footwork and intricate combinations. This class also takes you further into defense and counter-punching. Conditioning becomes more demanding to ensure students continue to challenge themselves.
level 2
Level Two is an advanced class that focuses on the different aspects of technique for sparring and actual competition. You absolutely do not need to be a competitive fighter to attend this class, but if you would like to participate in technical sparring drills, or would like to explore sparring and fighting more seriously, this class is for you.
kids class
Boys and girls are taught basic skills for both boxing and Muay Thai. Basic boxing fundamentals such as stance, guard, movement, jab, cross, and hook are taught. Mauy thai fundamentals such as proper stance, footwork, punches, kicks, the rear straight knee, and basic elbow techniques will be taught. The class has an emphasis on cardio calisthenics, shadow boxing, bag work, partner drills, pad work and core strengthening exercises. The class has been designed to provide self-defense tools as well as a greater self-confidence while keeping them physically fit.
